The purpose of the ELIXA study:

To evaluate the effectiveness of Lixisenatide in preventing cardiovascular events (heart attack like myocardial infarction) by lowering the blood sugar in subjects with Type-2 Diabetes.

14 to 54 months, depends when you start the study

Number of visits:

24 visits

Compensation:

Up to $1200

Qualifications and Notes:

This study is for people who have both diabetes and heart disease, AND who have recently been in the hospital for a cardiovascular event such as heart attack or unstable angina.

You may be eligible for the ELIXA study if you:

• Are over 30 years old
• Have type 2 diabetes or have been told you have a high blood sugar level
• Were recently in the hospital for a heart-related problem (for example, a heart attack or unstable angina)
